A Simple Testimony of God's Faithfulness

I have been reflecting on the events of the past year the last few days, and I have been amazed at the faithfulness of God in our lives.  It is amazing for me to think that just six months ago we were facing homelessness and unemployment.  We had no choice but to leave our seminary housing at the end of June and were on our way to move in with my parents.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to transfer through UPS to a center around the Owensboro, KY area where we would be living.  During that time, I felt a very close connection to the story of Abraham when he was commanded by God to leave his home and journey to a land he did not know.  Like Abraham, I knew we were being sent out by God, but I had no idea where we would land.
At the time, we were in the beginning stages of discussions with a church in SC, but I did not know for sure if or when anything would work out.  However, as I look back, I realize the Lord was gracious in that He gave me the faith to stand strong.  Although I did not know how things were going to work out, I knew that they would work out.

And then the phone rang.

Literally, as we are moving our belongings from Wake Forest into storage to prepare for our transition to my parents in KY I receive a phone call from the pastor of the church in SC saying they want me to come down in view of a call.  We accepted that call, and thus began our ministry as the Family Life and Education Pastor at Town Creek Baptist Church.

The Lord was not only faithful to provide us a home and place of ministry, but in a church and with a pastor that is exactly what I need at this stage in my ministry.  I have truly been blessed by the faith family at Town Creek and the example of strong, godly leadership from the Pastor.  I don’t know what the Lord has in store for us, but I do hope and pray that He plants us in Aiken for a long season of ministry
